We have seen this numerous times before.
Share looked to break out, was aggressively capped, sell side swelled up to encourage further selling until buy side looks " shocking " as you say.
Interestingly at this point sell side also shrinks back as if nobody has any interest in either buying nor selling ( stacked up sell side not necessary anymore as target of low interest and low price is achieved, genuine sellers would most likely not pull sell orders in this fashion as their motivation to sell at this point would certainly rather increase than decrease due to sentiment ).

That was the time the last ann hit with almost identical preludes...
