Hi @piwi33: With reference to your post earlier today: "Shell were able to flow 1.3 mmscf sustained from their well in this play a while ago without fraccing".
The tight gas and basin centred gas accumulations in the Taroom trough are unconventional, therefore they require hydraulic frac treatment, and I am sure that Shell would have fractured the Daydream-1 well to achieve an initial instantaneous rate of about 3.5 mmscf/d. The conclusion was that 10 years ago their stimulation design was sub-optimal, which is why Elixir has made extra effort to improve upon the DD-2 stimulation design, by way of better understanding the in situ stress regime (DFIT tests), applying optimal perforation placement, optimal frac fluid chemistry and ensuring each frac is initiated in the same lithology.
