The three facts which emerge from this ABC report are:
1. Peter Dutton said exactly the same thing about processing and bringing people from a war zone to Australia back in early March, 2024 at which time no one including Ms. Steggle declared the comment or Mr. Dutton to be racist.
2. No doubt the reason being that the Labor Government at the last minute cancelled visas for undisclosed security reasons which should never have been issued in the first instant and likely would not have been issued if the full visa processes had been followed and the persons concerned had been processed in refugee camps controlled by the UN and not processed in a war zone controlled by a declared terrorist organisation.
3. It should be noted that the children’s visas were not cancelled and they could have boarded the plane and flown to Australia where they would be safely cared for by their mother’s sister and family. There is no suggestion that Mr. Dutton was critical of the visas for the children not being cancelled.
