''its the newer generations that have brought in most of what you say.
    Apart from a mortgage,''

    who invented credit cards?

    who invented financial 'instruments'

who approved the use of such financial 'instruments' that lead to the GFC

what was the age of banking directors who allowed that to happen?

what was the age of politicians who allowed this kind of thing to go on - unlegislated?

you have to go back many many generations to find the people who made the decisions there -

I guess it depends on what you call ''its the newer generations''

Bill Gates is 68 years old - and I think you'll find that many of the people who allowed the rot to set in - the decision makers who allowed 2007 to happen -

were old men then - and that's 17 years ago. Many of them were probably in their 70's then

so, we're going back maybe ------- 87 years.

Not really what I'd call - newer generations
