Greed: An excessively eager desire to possess something, especially wealth.

So it's strong desire that causes trading errors & losses. And yet desire for more material possessions & security is the reason most people trade in the first place, isn't it? Why else would people celebrate when they make a big win?

What is desire? Desire is disatisfaction. We only desire things when we feel a disatisfaction with the current situation, otherwise desire doesn't arise.

Even if you possessed $100M and were aiming for $200M, it's the perception of disatisfaction or lack creates the desire. For the super wealthy, the perception of lack might be more to do with power or esteem that comes with more wealth, but it's the same underlying motive. If it wasn't, they wouldn't bother aiming for more.

You could say disatisfaction with one's current situation is what causes trading errors & losses. So gratitude for what you have might be the answer. If you agree with my logic, that is.
