Were you part of the Maidan coup???

Lets recap on the history:

1. Maidan came out to protests based on the supposed cancellation of an "Economic Association with the EU", but in reality Yanukovych ONLY suspended it

then, protests and violence ensued.....which is followed by

2. A peace deal that was signed between Yanukovych on the morning of 21st Feb, brokered by the EU, was reneged on by the Opposition parties

3. Subsequent to reneging on the peace deal, brokered by the EU, the police and security forces went on strike, refusing to protect Gov buildings and the President of Ukraine

4. And without the security protection, Yanukoyvch left Kiev for Kharkiv, to where his supporters are based, for protection. He is seen wondering around inspecting factories, the next day, on 22nd Feb with the Governor of Kharkiv.

5. That night, Opposition members called for an Emergency session of parliament(Rada), to be held next day, on the 22nd Feb, a Saturday,

6. They claimed Yanukoyvch could not be found, but they DID NOT let his Prime Minister run the country in his supposed absence,

7. Instead, on the 22nd Feb, Opposition members voted to "Impeach" Yanukoyvch - removing him as the President, but still won't allow his Prime Minister to take over. The vote was 328 in favour of the resolution to impeach Yanukoyvch, nonetheless still 10 votes short (needed) under the Constitution, but who cares!!!

8. On the 23rd Feb (Sunday), they met again in the Rada, to issue arrest warrants against Yanukoyvch. That afternoon, Yanukoyvch lands in Russia.

9. On the 24th Feb (Monday), the Rada sacked 5 Constitutional Court judges and demanded the newly appointed acting President sack the rest of the Constitutional Court judges

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has terminate the powers of five judges of the Constitutional Court appointed from the parliament's quota, for violating their oath, and also proposed the acting president and the Congress of Judges dismiss the rest of the Constitutional Court judges.

Lol, no coup there.

Just normal EVERY DAY BUSINESS of the Rada, where opposition members met on a Saturday and Sunday, voting on resolutions, in clear violation of the Ukrainian Constitution, but who cares, the Opposition members SACKED most of the Constitutional Court judges, so who can rule they breached the Constitution?!?

This is what happens every weekend in Ukraine!!!

There was no coup Cosmo. That fact is never going to change no matter how much you try to blame Ukraine for Yanukovych's actions.

It wasn't even a CIA coup as claimed by others on here. You and your ilk can't even decide who's coup it was, a tell tale that something is a lie when the story changes. The truth doesn't change Cosmo, so why do you and your ilk keep changing who's coup it was?

What is the difference between suspend and cancel? Who cares about your silly word semantics? I'll tell you, no one. The decision, a poor one that Ukrainians immensely disliked, was made by Yanukovych.

The violence Yanukovych unleashed on small student protestors someone else's decision? Nope, that was another bad Yanukovych decision, a major one is galvanising support against him.

Were the anti protest laws Yanukovych introduced another decision made by someone else? Nope, again, another bad Yanukovych decision.

Who's fault is it there Cosmo with all those poor Yanukovych decisions? The CIA?

Prior to signing the agreement with the opposition (it wasn't a peace deal, what are you even on about there?) Yanukovych was already planning his escape by arranging with associates to make his trip east to Russia "look like" an official visit. Why did he need it to "look like" anything?.

He put his escape plan into action the night he signed a deal with the opposition, that being Feb 21st.

He had one escape attempt blocked that same night (early on the 22nd of Feb). He did not notify authorities of his whereabouts and remained uncontactable throughout his escape plan.

All the actions of a man who has abandoned the presidency, abandoned his duties, as the vote against Yanukovych AFTER and in RESPONSE to his actions of abandoning Ukraine and fleeing to Russia say.

The poor decisions, all made by Yanukovych himself, include him voluntarily abandoning the presidency and fleeing to Russia. He wasn't overthrown because he left on his own. No amount of muddying the actual timeline of events and adding in your own opinion will change this crucial coup busting fact.
