I just read back through the past few announcements and it confirmed what I thought before. They have changed the wording the their announcement this time, to explicitly say that they believe they can lock in the entire US market for salt slag. A very bold statement. What other company has such an ambition to lock in the entire market in the US and can claim that it is achievable? "Alreco's technology can recover substantial value from the commodities contained within the salt slag such that is is believed an economic incentive will result in the cessation of salt slag landfilling in the US".

Unless someone finds a way to eliminate salt slag from aluminium recycling, or a competing technology emerges, MHM believes they can earn monopoly profits in the US for the foreseeable future.

I suspect many potential investors are waiting for proof that it all works. The final commissioning of the Geelong plant should put those doubts to rest when it happens.
