The AUKUS costing is for the entire program, not the per unit cost.
So, it'll include all sorts of things like infrastructure establishment costs, training of everyone involved in the project, sustaining & arming the submarines over their life cycle etc. It's effectively an "all-in" cost.
What's the point in quoting a per unit cost when that's not representative of the 40 year total cost?
