Sorry mate, no you did not just get the "technical name wrong" they are an entirely different technology. No one has stolen a march on them because no one else is making these batteries.
Having said that, ATC do have lots of competition from competing (different) technologies and need to pull their finger out to get the tech to market. The proof of the pudding will be real, long term, cost per KW of storage. At the moment we only have ATC's modelling to go on.
SIBs and LIBs are unlikely to be the competition in the long run.
