You say depreciation will exceed fiscal benefits over a “limited life” for an EV … but no verifiable data source to back this up. Even a cursory little search and review will show you Tesla models with well in excess of 300,000km and I’m talking Australian examples. I also know of plenty of ice models that can’t claim the same longevity (and those Teslas are only about 8-10% degraded in battery vs ICE with worn engines and horrible maintenance / fuel costs due to that wear and tear.
You claim the terrible depreciation will outweigh the fiscal benefits … so I assume you don’t understand how things like novated leasing, FBT relief or even charge costs at overnight tariffs of 8c/kWh work then?
Maybe rather than issue sensationalist and grandiose statements of your belief structures you could give us some facts and figures of those views … do you have any?
