Lets see if I have this correct.
Whyalla steel works is closing down its coking coal blast furnace because of an expected delay of its overseas imported coking coal.
Apparently they asked BSL if they could supply some coking coal short term by memory BSL did but not enough.

BSL has refurbished its port kembla coal import terminal because of longer term concerns regarding NSW supply of coking coal to supply their recently refurbished coking coal blast furnace after confirming hydrogen doesn't work.
The BSL coking coal will be imported from QLD.

I guess that includes QLD govt royalties.?

That raises the question for me how long is the life span of malabar and are there any other NSW potential coking coal projects being delayed.

SA whyalla importing coal from overseas ,NSW BSL planning to import coal from highly taxed QLD because of supply concerns.

This seems like a major #$%@ up to me unless i'm missing something.

Our 2 last coking furnaces should have access to cleaner cheap coking coal to produce steel at as competitive prices as possible.
