Not necessarily.

The melted ice may end up as extra water vapor in the atmosphere.

This in turn may cause the planet to heat up slightly thus causing more ice to melt.

I agree with the law of conservation, that matter cannot be destroyed, only changed in form.

There's a massive amount of evaporation at temperatures close to freezing?!
