its an interesting opinion piece DrS. the author is well experienced according to the site.

yet even medical people are subject to beliefs, and particularly political biases. even conspiracy thought bubbles.

I don't say this person is one such and his article can be read in a number of ways. and he's correct in comparing mpox with TB..... but multi-resistant TB has been on the radar and being heavily funded for research and treatment by govts, aid programs and health authorities, and has been for decades.

mpox clade 1b is reported as far more virulent and deadly than the bog-standard mpox that has been an intermittent problem for decades. it spreads much more easily it seems, awaiting more data, and transmissible before the lesions and sickness develops.

the best approach is prevention and that is what they're acting on with vaccination and education.
