No idea if its viable short term, but having industry experts working with education is the first step in establishing the industry.
If we have an established path to work in the facility then it can scale as required. That makes specialising in rare earth (as opposed to a phd on gold/tin etc, which I imagine is popular in the area) more enticing to earth science students.
Still very early days to be sure, but this is a very good sign.
