Of course it is gender based violence. Statistics from ABS speaks for itself. Women are disproportionately at risk than men. It is so obvious.
1. Intimate Partner Violence Women: Approximately one in six women (16%) has experienced physical or sexual violence by a current or former partner since the age of 15. Men: About one in sixteen men (6.1%) have experienced the same.Comparison: Women are nearly three times more likely than men to experience intimate partner violence.
2. Sexual ViolenceWomen: One in five women (18%) has experienced sexual violence since the age of 15. Men: One in twenty men (4.7%) has experienced sexual violence in the same period.Comparison: Women are almost four times more likely than men to experience sexual violence.
