I remember the guys from LSG (Lion Selection Group) saying gold tends to lead Cu up which you noted. It means market activity and inflation. In my extened portfolio I've tried to use Gold and Cu as inflation hedges & diversification.
I think I saw that. The Chinese sayin 'no you can bid gold up'. They're the ones buying it and printing money via those 30 years bonds they have almost never used. It's precisely because I see Fiat money sloshing every where that I have the guts to buy some small gold equites and know it will underpin Cu.
All IMVHO.
