I've seen members of the Aust SH association get up at AGM 's and talk about, it I've only rarely seen them voted down.

I'm sorry to say it but HC posters and readers, obviously including myself, are seen and a melange of people who know something but more often 'crackpots', hot air and conspiracy theorists. I've seen enough of them and hopefully populated my ignore list with them too. Even my wife occasionally lumps me in with one of those groups (I might even reciprocate on theories I don't like).

I know I do for the majority of people I get to choose from in local, state and federal elections in that order.
Democracy at it's best and authoritarianism is worse. In the meantime, I just 'Play up! Play up! and Play the game!'
