@hersuit - The discussion about at what stage a foetus is a human being, is markedly one-sided ?
We never ask that question when it comes to war where we are not so fussy about sending young men to war, many of them still teenagers . . . . and fully-formed human beings with the capacity to suffer both great joy and great trauma - a foetus is not in that class.
In case you are wondering about me, I was lucky never having had to make that choice. If I had to (and I no longer need to worry about that, haha) I would say within the first 2 months.

These days there is no need for an unwanted pregnancy - it was different for my mother - it was an indictable offence to have an abortion, even more so for the doctor. Austria then had a Christian (Catholic) dictatorship hence only a Jewish doctor was prepared to do what my Mum's doctor did and it was a great risk to him, he could have been struck off, fined and imprisoned. I did wonder how many women either died or sustained lifelong damage from either self-inflicted or backstreet abortions then, but in the grand field of slaughter, which followed, this all became immaterial.

Nowadays, if we were open about sex in a practical way and avoided the pornography which seems to be the 'learning tool' for modern youth, there is absolutely no need for unwanted pregnancies - the 'issue; in the U.S.A. is designed to side-track voters from real social and political problems and for the religious to give themselves importance in a world in which they stand to lose their relevance. Just IMO!
Formerly deeply Catholic (and also Protestant) Europe has low birthrates - how do you think that is achieved?
    Go well
