When Ukies 'grab land', holding onto that windfall land is the prime objective else it is just a moral victory. Putin isn't interested in the fuel for the Western narrative. My understanding is that before Kursk, Putin had already publicly stated that there would not be any negotiations, I can't remember the reason. I am only following the Ukie buggering ad-hoc, a foregone conclusion.
