Actually you're dead wrong, yet again @Rotane. The SC6 standard refers to 6% lithium oxide (Li₂O), not pure lithium (lithium metal); and that's where you f*cked up. Consequently there's not 6 kilos of Li (metal) in a tonne of spodumene, there's actually 27.89kg of Li (metal) per tonne of spodumene.

Even if you're genuinely dumb enough to think that SC6% means "6% lithium", then your numbers are still off. 6% of a kilogram is 60 grams, not 6 grams, you absolute pelican.

So fixing up your figures, if each tonne of Li carbonate contains 188 kgs of Li, that means you need 6.74 tonnes of spodumene to produce 1 tonne of lithium carbonate (188/27.89 = 6.74). Add a 10% margin of error for wastage, because no refining process is perfect, and what are you left with? A factor of 7.414, which is damn near exactly the factor I used (7.5 - referenced from Fastmarkets), which you described as "just garbage for the illiterate". It seems only one of us is illiterate, but it ain't me.

P.S. - I can't believe you didn't give yourself an uppercut as soon as you concluded that it costs $30k to produce 1 tonne of carbonate from spod. Are you seriously that bad at this game? Honestly mate, stick to simpler pursuits; numbers aren't for you.
