Slow day. Tough week. Too much spare and an opportunity take another look at the share and learn library. Further to recent insight and all things SMA v EMA I thought it worthy to mention the need to also be aware that the strength of EMA as a fast acting indicator I believe can also be its greatest weakness. This is because the least recent data will always be underweight relative to the front end recent past due to the way the rate of decay is calculated. This is one reason why I personally use both SMA and EMA. It can cost me an entry or four but I have no issue with sometimes being fashionably late to the party.

1 hour. 1 day. 1 month or more? I use an I-Line or interval setup. For example an I-Line with 1:1 and 3:1 and 2.50:1 ratio is representative of 65:65 and 60:20 and 20:8. I have found this method helps me better adapt to different data points of record. Pros and Cons? I prefer not to carry a position over a break so my thoughts are biased. For sure this method keeps my broker well fed if I seek to re-enter but it also helps me maintain a protective layer beyond the reach of post-session micro and macro events and post-session events where markets bears generally react faster and more irrationally than market bulls.

On all things Charts below is my IMU feed for today. Here my I-Line was is a record course of trade executions points on a 3:1 (60:20) ratio. No successful trades were made having failed to enter when price broke upwards through the SMA early in the day. If successful intent would have been to exit if (when) the faster EMA made look to either break below the SMA or just prior to close of day.
