Our US listed SILXY shares were up 7.8% last night on the Kazatomprom news. Whether or not our fundamentals are linked to u3o8 is something that can be argued either way; I'm in agreement with the broader stockmarket that our fundamentals are very much linked to u3o8 because at the end of the day, what utilities want is a value-added final product of enriched uo2 (or sometimes metallic uranium) and an increase in the price of the end product is going to mean an increase in prices all along the value chain unless there is a very specific bottleneck at some point on that chain.
In the u market we are prospectively looking at a generalised shortage in supply across all points on the value chain, so the u3o8 price functions as a good rough-and-ready proxy for the value of SLX.
All IMO of course.
