Need to change your thread title to low wages.
Mining companies elsewhere in the the country would love to be paying their tradesman these rates. Grange would be struggling to fill positions with experience when you can jump on a paid flight and earn 50k to 60k a year more for the same job and roster interstate.
Have you considered that the extra 250 employees might be salary staff sitting behind a computer in positions created by middle management for their mates and not the fitters and sparkies doing all the work?
