Israel settler violence in West Bank has caused ‘largest forcible transfer’ of Palestinians since 7 October – rights group
Allegra Pacheco, chief of party of the NRC-led West Bank Protection Consortium, reiterated that the group calls for the international community – including the United States and European Union – “to intervene with the Israeli authorities and protect these vulnerable communities.”
As the “occupying power” which has a responsibility for the safety of the occupied population, Israel is directly responsible “for the actions of violent settlers” who are under Israeli military protection, said Pacheco.
According to the NRC, “Palestinians are being forced to leave their land in what clearly constitutes a grave breach of international humanitarian law”. The rights group further stated that it “urges the international community to push Israel to prohibit Israeli settlers from entering Palestinian residential, agricultural and grazing areas. Military orders must close down all settler outposts, illegal under Israeli law, from where violence is planned and perpetrated.”

Israel cramming 1.7m Palestinians into 10% of Gaza
Israel is “deliberately strangling 1.7 million Palestinian civilians” by cramming them into a narrow area of land which is no larger than one tenth of the Gaza Strip’s overall area, the Government Media Office (GMO) warned yesterday according to the Palestinian Information Centre.
“The Israeli occupation army is deliberately strangling 1.7 million Palestinian civilians, cramming them into a narrow area that does not exceed one tenth of the total area of the Gaza Strip,” the GMO said, adding that this is part of the occupation’s crime of forced displacement Palestinian civilians.
“The IOF [occupation] pushed the displaced Gazans to forcibly move and leave their homes and residential areas under the threat of gunfire, bombing and internationally prohibited weapons, which is a crime against humanity,” the GMO said.

MK Bhadrakumar: Iran will hit Israel, ball is in US-Israeli court
The Iranian statement from the UN podium in New York is a message addressed to the White House that the ball is in the US-Israeli court. Interestingly, it coincided with the toned down White House readout on Biden’s call with Netanyahu on Wednesday, where Biden flagged the “defensive U.S. military deployments” and stressed the urgency of bringing the ceasefire and hostage release deal to closure and discussed upcoming talks in Cairo to remove any remaining obstacles.” It stands to reason that Tehran and Washington are communicating with each other.
Clearly, against such a heavily nuanced backdrop, the paranoia about a regional war is unwarranted, since neither Iran nor the US wants war. As for Israel, a small country, it simply lacks the capability to go to war with Iran armed with three submarines stacked with nuclear missiles as its strategic assets.
The stunning disclosure of Hezbollah’s vast network of underground missile network in southern and central Lebanon is a reality check for the Israeli political elite and settler communities on what they are up against.
As the former Israeli war minister Avigdor Lieberman puts it, Israel is engaged in a war of attrition, exactly as the Iranians wanted, having succeeded in uniting the resistance fronts. Lieberman pointed out that the agony of the indeterminate waiting for Tehran’s retaliatory operation is in itself an achievement for Tehran and the Axis of Resistance.
