The word 'real' is impossible to define. Sometimes people say a thing is real if a second witness corroborates your experience. This definition doesn't hold water because the other person could be just as illusory (and exist in the same plane) as the observed object. So... real versus unreal is something we impose upon life. We don't know know anything for sure.

The philosophy I prefer goes like so:

Infinite possibilities exist here & now. These possibilities are like frames of an old fashioned movie reel. Our consciousness is the light that shines through a frame, and it creates our experience. Our consciousness shines through billions of frames per minute, creating an illusion of time and space.

When our consciousness is less clouded by ego, it becomes brighter. New frames become visible. That's when we can perceive other dimensions, beings, UFOs etc. These things are as real as this reality we're inhabiting right now. But they will not be avaialble permanently unless we choose to stay in that altered state. And they won't be perceivable by others in ordianry state of consciousness.
