@MrGordon
"A spirit can be a person like God."
I get that, but the Bible says God is Spirit and not "a" Spirit, which imo an "a" spirit would place limitations on him.
But the spirit aspect I was asking you about, is the likes of many peoples claims that we consist of body, soul and spirit.
We have both ruled out the soul aspect, as that is the whole person.
Breath of life which the Bible suggests is the air we breath, is also deemed as spirit.
So what I'm asking is, do you disagree with what many claim, that we have a literal spirit within us (not talking about God's Holy), but one of our own?
It would seem or in places at least, the spirit of man can align with the likes of the spirit of the world, not speaking of a literal spirit, physical.
"God isaSpirit:" -> "God's holy spirit is his active force" -> It would be deemed as part of him, to whatever measure he so chooses.
To a degree, I suggest the JW's do have a better grasp than most on the Holy Spirit matter, BUT to a degree.
It can be referred to as He, Him, it, this, that, same etc, depending on context.
It would seem, the Bible translators on the Comforter matter, should have used the likes of it, this etc.
However the terms "it" and "God the Holy Spirit can be interchanged, one in the same.
The same applies to God and his word in the first 13 verses of John.
The 13 verses are predominantly about his word.
1:3 All thing were made through it = Psa 33:6, 9 etc.
1:11 -He (it) came to His own, and His own people did not accept Him (it). (Jesus says the world did not know him = Father)
1:12 - But as many as received Him (it), to them He (it) -> (1 Peter 1:23) gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
1:13 - who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. (it - 1 Peter 1:23)

Father is the Spirit of Truth the Holy
John 14:17 - the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you.
= 2 Cor 6:16 - And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will dwell in them And walk among them. I will be their God, And they shall be My people.”
1 Cor 6:19 - Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?
Paul here interchanges God and the Holy Spirit = one in the same, he is not talking about two different things.
So John 14:17 is fine with, Him and He usage based on the Temple messages here, but "it" could also be used in 14:17, but it still represents the Father.
John 3:34 - For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for (because - Luke 4:18) God does not give the Spirit by measure.
John 14:10 - Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? The words that I speak to you I do not speak on My own authority; but the Father who dwells in Me does the works.
These two verses, are pretty much saying the same thing or showing the same message.
The only works Jesus mentions here, are the words of the Fathers being expressed from him and that by hearing them, was deemed as seeing (perceiving - Inter) the Father.
Hence by doing so, Jesus became the express image of the Fathers Person Heb 1:3 KJV.
Naturally, we express our words.
