The McP saga is only minor compared to the Santos (Barossa) and Woodside (Scarboro) issues over indigenous "consultation". It would appear that the government is currently having to re-think the extent of indigenous consultation that is necessary and curtail the frivolous battles supported by the tax payer sponsored Environmental Defenders office who are doing the bidding of the Greens in suppressing investment in the mining and oil and gas industries and destroying Australia's sovereign risk rating. It appears that the amount of "consultation" can (in the future) be "clarified" - god help us with Tanya P making the determination but (after the next election) we could be in a better position with Jacinda Price.
