what's with the mum and dad reference?

    I'm curious to know what the reference is to "mum and dad" investors. Is serious investing only reserved for those that don't have children? I'm a Dad and I'm engaged to a Mum and we are in for the long haul. Don't appreciate the patronising reference that we would see a small profit and run. Or does one need to be a childless Yuppie???
