By that analysis, they could buy back the entire float except for your shares, so you's own the whole company, and you'd be complaining about missed dividends.
It is not about the short term price of the stock, but with improved valuation metrics, it absolutely is expected to boost the price long term. They are buying the assets you are interested in at a large discount to fair value in a tax efficient manner.
