But you've provided no evidence at all to even suggest that independents would be free thinkers, and you've certainly not mentioned anything that suggests that an independent MP would vote with their conscience. I don't think anybody would argue with you that a party system does bring a measure of control, but you can't just call "different" "better" with no substance. Why don't you try providing some sort of substance to that argument?
Just because a certain individual doesn't have to answer to a Party within our political system doesn't mean they are going to do what's right, it doesn't even mean they're going to pretend to.
