Today Samsung and GM signed a $3.5B deal to build a factory to manufacture EV batteries.
The buying in SYR was likely traders thinking that SYR could be a beneficiary of this deal.
SYR has many issues to deal with at this time and one of them that people will not say publicly is that there is likely pressure within the US to support US owned suppliers of product...and SYR is likely considered an unwanted competitor.
