I don't think that the excitement and the enthusiasm has gone away from WDS. This is very reminiscent of the period of no reporting and silence that occurred prior to the announcement of the farmin deal between PCL and WDS. Many were, back then, screaming and wringing their hands that PCL didn't have anyone interested in coming on board with us to do the 3D seismic and to comply with the provisions of the exploration licence despite the company telling us that we had 4 parties interested when we opened up our data room. PCL were at a point of extreme weakness at that time, IMHO, and struck as good a deal as was possible as it was prior to the Total discovery of the Venus monster reserve. That discovery changed the perception of the whole world towards the Orange Basin.
Yes, if we were now bargaining with a Super Major for a deal we probably would get a better outcome with either a bigger percentage or more free carried wells .... but that is history and we have now got the situation that is still going to be outstanding IMHO.
Like everyone I am as keen as mustard to get the 3D results and WDS to commit to drilling the first well ..... in my dreams I have already been thinking about how I'll deal with the possibility of a monstrous outcome .....
I think the worries that have been expressed are understandable but unnecessary at this point in time and people should be confident that nothing has changed in a negative way .... there has been no negative announcements from any direction from PCL, WDS, Sintana or African Oil .... and all the activities from others in the Basin are extremely positive.
Chin up people ..... I am sure that we are on a winner !!!!
This is not investment advice .... do your own research.
