they have access to lots of capital headroom just by dialing up the reinsurance cover that they have deliberately let slip. They can also manage their assumptions around the reserves that including the redelinquencies (where the underlying loan is performing but the borrower took advantage of the covid repayment holiday with no penalty but HLI treating them as at sometime non performing so reserved against ). Ie. plenty of capital available when needed. No need for capital raising.
