    sorry for the delay as I was travelling and not always in the same forum.
    the question is not whether India has the potential to be next driver of global growth. The question is whether the social structure and governance will ever permit the levels of growth promoted and delivered by China. Further, every civilization has a saturation point. The growth for India doesn’t necessarily seem to evolve around the levels of urbanization China had. The social structure of India might never enable such a transition. The Chinese were a remarkable story and I doubt the super powers will allow India to grow as China did. China was an unexpected story and now the emergence of a superpower has placed the dominant one under threat, so I don’t think India will be allowed to grow and the Indian structure is different.
    further to be a billion ton producer from a 100 million ton producer is just immense.
