The figures on Chernobyl are clouded in secrecy but there are estimations of 100000 affected due to radiation....not to mention a significant area permanently evacuated...and of course fukishima is still releasing contaminated water into the pacific...how unfortunate or fortunate was the earthquakes in the hunter valley for anyone thinking of putting a nuclear reactor there...pretty close to Sydney...and probably its water supply
