Goverments of all flavors are famous for wasting money on projects . Poor planning, overspending , getting ripped off by contractors etc.

The decision by the Andrews government sends a great example to all governments. We can't afford every brain fart idea . Governments need to be more accountable for these financial decisions and the Comm games cancellation of the model anyone can use to argue when a government comes up with a crazy idea in the future .

All governments need to get better value for money for our taxes . l really hope that the example of the Comm games gets used often.

As to Scotland. The article says that the rest of the costs will be borne by private investors . Given that the Andrews government was scared off by the total cost and the returns on that investment one wonders how much those " private investors " are going to charge for their investment .

It was the most ludicrous of all Vic ALP brain farts, building massive infrastructure in regions where there isn't the population to use it, even installing new swimming pools in Geelong that the plan was to then rip out after the games. What sort of morons do you support?
