    My esteemed friend @Ewebute of the Internet, this is another myth.
    I do not blame you or any other poster on this thread, who are inexperienced, but this myth is also believed by many who should know better.

    Lets look at the facts.
    The US market Stock market is capitalized at $50 trillion give or take.

    Approximately 70% of all stock is owned by institutions, e.g.

    Am I supposed to believe that if/when big institutional investors believe that it is time to sell their holdings they will find willing retail buyers with a cash stash of $35 trillion (thats $100,000 per man woman and child for each of the 350 million US population)?

    At a time when US consumer is struggling (allegedly) with savings rate at historic lows (allegedly) ?

    Who are these people with all that multi-trillion dollar wealth?

    Listen to me, my esteemed and inexperienced friends. When Institutional investors decide to buy or sell, they will buy or sell to other institutions.
    No other market participants deal in such vast amounts of money.

    But I am a
    fair man.

    The day someone shows me that the share register of Microsoft changes from this
