    cerhob,

    Nothing 'fatal' about it.

The only 'fatal' mistake is not to take advantage of the program and implement a plan that caps your own electricity costs.

Energy costs are going to go up due to the increase in demand from China, India, and other cost pressures here in Oz.

And its just like all other government programs designed to take away money from one set of people and give it to another.

Unlike other programs this one can be used by everyone - all you need is your own money.

And for many us that don't get any stash from any other programs, it is a welcome 'gift' for paying so much in taxes!!! Nice to think that I actually get 'something' from that 6 figures I 'gave' the government in taxes this past year.........

One of the best investment you'll ever make.

Buy the 1500 watt system with say $3000 of your own money and sign over the certificates.

On a nice spring day here in Vic I can get 11,000 watts of electricity which should cover most of what I use and get 66 cents for every 1000 watts excess that I generate and don't use.

My electricity bill should be zero and I'll maybe even make some cash.

For a long time I also was thinking of putting in one of those instant gas water heater systems - we had one in when we lived in Japan and they worked quite well, but the cost was too high and put it off.

Our water tank was also too small for the family - always running out of hot water.

So when the state government put the rebate system in place we scrapped our old system and tank and put in a solar water with gas boosted system. Got a bigger tank as well.

So how did we do? Well, we put it in towards the end of summer last year and our gas bill for the three months and that included hot water for baths, showers, dishwasher, laundry, AND cooking was under $10.00...the service fee was much more than that......

    Great savings there as well.
