The big issue with this for LTR holders . As the Europeans and Americans have been slow to develop EVs , they have been left behind . Now it appears that ICE manufacturers and big oil are pressuring governments to place tariffs on the Chinese . This could result in a slow down of both EV uptake and development of EVs in the US and Europe . A bad result for Lithium miners and terrible for greenhouse emission reduction . Australia has no car manufacturing , largely as a result of Aus removing import tariffs , meaning the Europeans ( in particular ) have achieved a much greater presence . I think we will all pay for the lack of foresight by these car manufactures . They’ve made huge profits on their ICE vehicles and have delayed EV development as a result !
