It does seem a bit strange.
If they were able to do the deal on the weekend then they could have written up the announcement at the same time. More likely the deal was done after close of ASX on Friday so would have been easier enough to write announcement.
If they were able to write up the halt notice they could also have just said we sold the property what is so difficult about that unless it was a great deal and they want to get the market attention with a halt.
