There are also rumours that the Chinese economy is in the toilet eg Evergrande etc,...
...so any pull or push back in sales of their EV's (which may be pilling up in or on wharfs and warehouses, with the associated storage fees), is not going to go down very well with Bejing HQ especially for the ones heavily subsidised.
