Acorn, I don't see a negative power price as a good thing. It is a sign of volatility in the market. It is unpredictable. In my view a healthy electricity market has a small amount of volatility. At the moment the market swings between -ve and the max "Vol". This is due to a large amount of unpredictable renewables and insufficient storage to soak up excess or cover shortfall.
Hopefully the volatility will be reduced by increased storage capacity.
