I listened intently to the Tucker Prof, Sachs latest interview. Fascinating and I thought I knew something about the 2008 GFC! I'm not sure I agree with his observation that Hank Paulson caused the panic of Lehman since we now know all the crap about the MBS securitization, etc. I suppose just like last month yen carry trade unravelling causing a panic, is it the symptoms or the direct action that is the problem. The same thing on the US debt piles. The same thing on the Washington ideology dressed up as anti-commo Soviets that extended to anti-russia. You can probably find parallel to China after the globalisation theme to find ultra cheap Labor thinking China is compelled by the West to remain in that status. The balkanisation of Russia shares the same tactic on China hence both are joined through the hip and shaped by US neocons.
