While I'm in no way advocating unlimited population growth it's probably worthwhile pointing out that if China and India can support their populations on the limited geographical resources they have at their disposal, the planet could probably cope with a hell of a lot more people.
Canada, Australia, Russia and Africa are extremely underpopulated when geographical area is considered. Why the 'west' beats itself into a tizz about this while India and China run rampant seems rather peculiar. The 'wests' population are either stagnant or declining, it's just not our problem. We should be forcing 'them' to do something about it, putting restrictions on ourselves will achieve zero.
