When a "serious article" about the looming economic crisis related to Australia's South East Coast gas shortage, appears on Woke Central, aka Australia'a National broadcaster, it's serious. Congrats to Twiggy Forrest for having the balls and the money muscle to ram a solution down politicians throats with his Squadron Energy LNG project at Port Kembla.
Despite the reluctance to accept the centrality of gas energy for decades to come, the ABC, home of climate catastrophism, is somewhat worried about "energy prices for homes" and "jobs" .... so Australia can import excess migrants to fuel unsustainable population growth (with their strain on energy requirements, jobs, housing, health, government services etc etc ) but can't prioritise domestic sources of gas for domestic consumption ??
Twiggy realises he doesn't need domestic sources - there's plenty of foreign sources only to willing to make available long term supplies to make better use of their Northern hemisphere of peak gas surplus ....
Surely in a world where gas will remain central for decades to come, and will remain essential for fertiliser and other chemical production for the foreseeable future, and gas remains a vital part in integrating intermittent energy sources into the grid .... surely it would be better for Australia to use its own abundant gas sources which it can pay for in A$ instead of US$ ????
What am I missing here ?
Maybe Santos should expand its fleet of LNG ships and undercut Twiggy ???
Australia needs to mimic Norway - virtue speak about climate change and then make a motza from its Oil & Gas resources.
Norway is the main beneficiary of the energy crisis in Europe created by the destruction of cheap Russian sources of oil, gas and coal (and uranium, nickel etc etc ) ... and its sovereign wealth fund collects 70% of the gross income from its North Sea oil&gas fields ... now the largest per capita SWF.
Maybe Australia should blowup a few competitors pipelines and blame it on "terrorists" .... only kidding .... no need to alert ASIO.
