You HAVE TO LISTEN TO THIS BROADCAST from the ABC article I just posted above, which was published about 4 hours ago.
Whilst the majority of it is about how dire the the east coast gas shortage is, it also discusses how Squadron plans to assist with its import terminals nearing completion.
But, at the 3 min mark it states:
Federal Resources Minister Madeleine King says an import terminal can play a role in securing supply, but her preference is for new gas field to be developed. "The closer the source of energy is to where it is going to be used, whether it is in households or manufacturing, the cheaper it is. The more you have to transport anything the more it adds cost, so that's why I'm working with my state and territory counterparts to make sure there is gas available closer to the places which it's used."
IMO David Breeze and his lawyers need to really up the ante here and use this as further evidence at the Fed Court as well as plugging it to the media. The sheer stupidity of this situation, where importing gas from other countries is even contemplated, meanwhile PEP-11, which is located just 26kms from where it's needed most, can't get off the starting block because of the ineptitude and failure of the JA's to make a decision in accordance with the law. Grrrr!
