Ok, lets use your figures as they still work. Where the other company was bought for $aud 2.29 billion and achieved a share price in the mid $30s, RAC would achieve a share price ofaround $11 for the same market cap.. So the example of $1.60 to mid $30s in a short time frame still doesn't fit.
Hence my suggestion to keep an eye on market caps when doing comparisons. Nothing more, nothing less.
