If you are shorting banks, you are betting on a recession, and a recession will happen again, but the big question is when?
However in the long term CBA keeps climbing up left to right on the charts. It's like getting Apple except cheaper, it's meant to be bought and held onto for years, imo.
These mining stocks are usually cyclical, but FMG also has a history of climbing (even though shorter, within the last 10 years) and this drop to $16 could be very temporary.
