Just to clarify one point. Chinese companies/entities are not allowed by their government to compete with each other when aqquiring foreign assets/companies.
They are allowed and encouraged to collude with each other. And to get the best value for national interests and purposes. That means paying as little as possible for the assets. They only enter in a bidding war when that involves the competition from other country.
@gberra Regarding your post, ASX, ASIC, and ATO will love the transaction you have detailed. There are only a pair of reasons to structure a deal that way. I will love to hear the answers.
