hybrid sales numbers are up because Toyota has phased out petrol only options for most of its popular passenger vehicles, including the C-HR, Yaris, Corolla, Corolla Cross, Camry, and RAV4. All of these models are now only available as hybrids. So, are customers actively choosing hybrids, or is it simply that some of the best selling models are now hybrid by default? I'll give Toyota one thing and that is that their marketing department are great at manipulating narratives to tell the story they want people to believe.
most Toyota hybrids are still shipping with NiMH, they don't contain any graphite at all.
